Applicability
CSR provisions apply to companies that, during the preceding financial year, meet any of the following thresholds:
- Net worth of ₹500 crore or more
- Turnover of ₹1000 crore or more
- Net profit of ₹5 crore or more
These companies must spend at least 2% of their average net profits from the last three years on CSR activities, in accordance with their CSR policy. Newly incorporated companies are required to calculate the average from the years since incorporation. CSR compliance includes both financial deployment and accurate regulatory reporting.
